Are there any issues in regards to updating in Windows 7 from a bootcamp partition?

Also, is AHCI necessary for the update? AHCI is disabled by default in any Apple mac running Windows from Boot Camp and is enabled again when you reboot into OS X - and I'm using a mac.

EDIT: found my own answer - others have updated from bootcamp with no problems - which answers the second question as well.

    Default Temp still showing 128C

Upgraded my Pyro 120 to 3.3.2 from 3.3.0 and everything works fine but SpeedFan still shows the drives temp at 128C so that bug is still present.

I tried updating to 3.3.2 using the Field Updater that came with 3.2. The update seemingly worked in that it started and finished without any error message but the FW Rev. field is stating 320ABBF0 - which suggests that nothing has changed (i.e. the update failed).

I power cycled the computer, and reflashed. Same deal - the flash "works" but the FW Rev. remains at 320ABBF0.

    Imac 11,1 (late 2009 model)
Windows 7 SP1 through Boot Camp
    Wildfire 240GB

    Any suggestions?

I notice this guy had the same problem: http://www.patriotmemory.com/forums/...light=320ABBF0

His solution was to enable AHCI... but as we already know, there ain't no AHCI in Windows under bootcamp.

    Thanks GuillaumeA2.

I might give it a go - it would certainly speed up windows having AHCI, but I noticed it does stop sleep mode and the Boot Camp Control Panel from working (I can probably live without them).

    Cheers.

    you're welcome.
Let me know how it goes please.
I need to update my Pyro too as it has a 3.19FW and it keeps freezing every 30sec.

I had a look and there is this program that does the same thing but for more mac models:

    http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=126089

It includes the ability to backup the MBR of the drive that is being altered (rather than use the command line).

It only supports Intel chipsets - so your MBP 2011 should work fine.

I'll give it a go and let you know.

Thanks for that information. I'm reluctant to enable AHCI on my Mac because it involves altering the MBR associated with the partition. Maybe I'll wait a bit before trying it.
