Default [Pyro, Pyro SE & Wildfire] Firmware 5.0.1

Hi everyone! Can anyone tell what's new in this firmware?

    5.0.1 Release Notes

-Fixed an issue when exiting PHY power management that caused a performance reduction.
MOD EDIT: Thread has been sticky'd. Please use this as the official thread for 5.0.1 discussions & issues.

Would be interested in why there is such a large version number bump on the firmware for a single bigfix.

I have a pyro 120 and fw3.3.2 on a x79 asus board (intel sata slots) and the updater won't even see the drive
    to update it

Are you running the updater in administrator mode (right click file and choose run as administrator).

The sandforce updater will not cry about not being started in admin mode, but it won't see your drives unless you are.

Dunno for you guys, but my SSD is runnig slower with this firmware (pyro 60GB). 67 instead of 87 MB/s in linear write and 47 instead of 67 MB/s on 4K write test in crystal disk mark.

Try switching to IDE mode instead of AHCI in mobo bios (worked for me).

The reason why there is such a large number jump is because our firmware releases are parallel with Sandforce's. There were also others in between such as 3.3.4 and 3.3.6 etc but it did not apply to our builds.

looks like that sandforce released many intermediate updates (3.3.4 , 3.3.6 ...) where they fix/clean all(most) their mess about stability, but decide to not talk about this in public, to avoid the legitimate anger of their customers..

they admitted only one bugfix to cover up everything else bugs

    it's my opinion...
